The Palais Brongniart renews its street-art event

After the success of the event in 2019, "StreetPacking" will be back at the Palais Brongniart this June and throughout the summer.

True to its vocation of promoting meetings and exchanges, this historic venue once again aims to give a voice to the younger generation and express a powerful, shared message of unity and resilience.

Organised in partnership with the City of Paris and the École Professionnelle Supérieure d'Arts Graphiques de la Ville de Paris (EPSAA [Paris Graphic Arts School]), the event involves covering the main façade of the former Paris Stock Exchange with a large, temporary work of modern art.

Against the backdrop of the current health crisis, the following guidelines were given to a group of nineteen EPSAA students: "At the moment, every French citizen and company is having to deal with an unprecedented world health crisis. During the lockdown period, companies and employees have been forced to operate differently; what impact could this situation have on our model of society in the future? Beyond the tremendous solidarity shown by so many people, what are our aspirations for tomorrow? What do you think and what do you hope will happen in the aftermath of this period, which will surely result in changes over the long term? As during any major change or event, various slogans/images/phrases have sprung up during the crisis; we invite you to come up with an idea of your own."

The students finally agreed on the slogan "I missed you...", and then they combined it with colours and a design that reflects modern times. The final winner for the 2020 StreetPacking event was chosen by a jury made up of GL events employees, members of EPSAA, and representatives of the Paris City Council and the Paris Tourist and Convention office.
