The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games are a unique showcase for the GL event group’s know-how in organizing international sports events. From Paris to Tahiti, as well as all the Olympic venues, our teams are hard at work to ensure the success of this major event. 

GL events, a major player in the Paris 2024 Games 

As a provider for this edition of the Games, the Group is setting up over 70% of the temporary facilities, including 160,000 grandstand seats - the equivalent of two Stade de France. Through these, GL events presents its commitment to sustainable development, with 100% of materials used for temporary structures reused or recycled.

In addition, the Group has teamed up with Loxam becoming the prime contractor for the design, maintenance and operation of all electrical installations of the event, ensuring a clean and reliable power supply for the Broadcast Center and more than 55 venues. 

Based on its expertise in equestrian event management, GL events Equestrian Sport has been entrusted with the arrangement of the reception and competition areas at Château de Versailles. This emblematic venue will host 19 Olympic events, for which 22 and 24 meter-high grandstands with a capacity of 16,300 seats have been built.

GL events, a committed organizer

Conceived as a vector for change over environmental challenges, the Paris 2024 Games are organized in a sober and sustainable manner while remaining spectacular. GL events is a core actor of this approach by committing to a circular economy in order to minimize its environmental footprint and promote the sustainable use of resources. 

In that respect, the Group has implemented a major recycling policy for these Olympic and Paralympic Games, using recycled seats, wood flooring that will be reuesed to build second-hand furniture and materials with a longer lifespan.

GL events also favorizes responsible sourcing, in particular by acquiring wood from partners committed to reducing deforestation and carbon footprint. 

Contributing to the Games’ legacy, an ambition for the Group 

The Group is also an Official Partner for this edition of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As such, it intends to contribute to their legacy. Beyond Paris, it is France’s Games that will promote the country and sport. Behind the scenes, GL events’ teams will be deploying their know-how and energy to make these Games a lasting showcase.
