EXPOMIN RECOGNIZED BY THE CHILEAN MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT FOR ITS COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
The largest mining fair in Latin America, organized by FISA, a subsidiary of the GL events Group, has been recognized by the Chilean Ministry of the Environment for its actions in favor of sustainability during its latest edition, held from April 22 to 26, 2025, at Espacio Riesco (Santiago).
This distinction, awarded as part of the HuellaChile program, highlights the implementation of a structured approach to measuring and reducing the event’s emissions, as well as the awareness-raising initiatives carried out among participants and partners.
A CONCRETE AND COLLECTIVE COMMITMENT
Bringing together more than 83,000 visitors and 1,372 exhibiting companies, Expomin 2025 implemented a comprehensive environmental management plan, supported by Respect (consulting), Bureau Veritas (certification), and its strategic partners Anglo American and Colbún.
To limit individual travel, Expomin rolled out a sustainable mobility plan in partnership with Uber, Cabify, RedBus, Metro de Santiago, Parque Arauco, Nuevo Pudahuel, WeTransport, and Turistik. Solar generators were installed in parking areas, a recycling plan was introduced, and an individual carbon footprint registry enabled visitors and exhibitors to declare their mode of transport — fostering a collective awareness initiative.
A RECOGNITION THAT HIGHLIGHTS A GROWING MOMENTUM
For Francisco Sotomayor, CEO of GL events Chile, this recognition marks an important milestone in structuring a continuous approach to environmental improvement and responsibility.
It reflects the commitment of FISA and GL events to embed sustainability at the heart of the design and operation of their events, in collaboration with both public and private stakeholders.
Beyond this recognition, Expomin aims to continue and strengthen its commitments to responsible resource management, circular economy practices, and stakeholder awareness in future editions.
