AQUASUR 2026: A LEADING GLOBAL EVENT FOR AQUACULTURE

From March 24 to 26, 2026, Aquasur took place in the Los Lagos region, in Chilean Patagonia. Organized by FISA, GL events’ subsidiary in Chile, the event brought together international stakeholders from across the aquaculture industry to address key challenges related to innovation, sustainability, and sector development.

A record-breaking edition at the heart of a strategic industrY

With 30,959 visitors, up 37% compared to the previous edition, Aquasur 2026 recorded the highest attendance in its history. The exhibition welcomed 550 companies from 34 countries, confirming its role as an international platform for a key global industry.
Spanning 20,000 sqm across eight halls, the event showcased the latest advancements in the sector, from production and processing to technologies related to data analysis, robotics, and marine ecosystem health.
Through its scale and international reach, Aquasur has established itself as a structuring event for the aquaculture industry, helping connect stakeholders, foster innovation, and support the sector’s ongoing transformation.

Strong institutional recognition

For the first time since its creation, the exhibition was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Chile, José Antonio Kast, alongside numerous institutional and economic representatives.
This presence highlights the strategic importance of aquaculture for the country—Chile’s second-largest export sector, as well as Aquasur’s role in supporting the industry’s development.
The event also hosted international representatives, ambassadors, researchers, and public and private stakeholders, reflecting its integration into a global dynamic.

A platform for dialogue addressing future challenge

Beyond the exhibition, Aquasur 2026 featured an international congress gathering 57 high-level speakers to discuss key industry challenges, including technological innovation, environmental performance, evolving practices, and growth prospects.
The event also served as a forum for forward-looking discussions, notably with the launch of initial reflections on the Salmon Plan 2050, a roadmap dedicated to sustainability and the development of aquaculture territories.
These exchanges demonstrate Aquasur’s ability to bring together the entire ecosystem around shared priorities, combining innovation, research, and regional development.

Through the organization of Aquasur via FISA, GL events reaffirms its role as a committed partner supporting high-potential economic sectors, by providing international platforms for connection, visibility, and development.
