The world figure-skating championships will take place in Nice from 26 March to 1 April 2012.
The last time the city hosted the championships was in 2000. That time, Sarah Abitbol & Stéphane Bernadis won the bronze medal in the pairs.
The rental of the event spaces and all the services required for staging the championships will be shared by the different stakeholders in the event, the City of Nice, the French Figure Skating Federation and GL events.
The convention centre has been working for several weeks to provide the best conditions for the skaters and spectators during this major show.

Then there was the installation of the grandstands. It required 50 semi-trailers to deliver the 600 tonnes of material for the grandstands and the trussing for lights. This was a major project, since the grandstand will hold 8,000 people.
Step by step, the teams at GL events are working to lay out the space and install all the audiovisual facilities at the convention centre, the furniture, temporary outfitting...
