Barcelona’s International Convention Centre was awarded for its excellent facilities and the wide range of services offered.
Barcelona’s International Convention Centre (CCIB) was awarded the Bronze Award as the Best Overseas Venue at the Meetings & Incentive Travel Industry Awards, which took place in London.
On this occasion, the CCIB had strong competitors such as the Bella Centre in Copenhagen (Denmark), the Convention Centre in Dublin (Ireland), the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, and the RAI in Amsterdam (Holland).
Marc Rodríguez, CCIB’s General Manager, said that “it is a great honour for us that our centre is so well-recognised by business tourism professionals and clients. We are becoming a benchmark for the international event organisation industry”.
Throughout its seven years of operation, this is the third time that the CCIB has been awarded at the M&IT Awards; in the two previous occasions it won the bronze in 2007 and the silver one in 2008.
The gala, which was organised by the prestigious British publication Meetings & Incentive Travel and presented by the BBC journalist Kate Silverton, took place at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel in London. Once again, the event brought a large number of business tourism professionals together, who attended the 19 awards ceremony which rewards excellent services and products from the British magazine readers’ votes.
