event organisation, event venue management and services for fairs, congresses and events.

As of 30 September 2005, GL events had year-to-date sales of €305.4mn, up 17.8% (+6.6% at comparable structure and exchange rates). International business accounted for 33% of nine month sales or €100mn. Third-quarter sales, traditionally less buoyant, reflecting reduced activity in the summer period, rose 10.1% over the same period from the previous year.

Venue and Event Management benefited from growing contributions from the Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB) and Hungexpo, the Budapest Exhibition Centre. Because the Padua Exhibition Centre and Perfexpo, an event engineering specialist, were consolidated on the 1st of September, their contribution to third-quarter sales was marginal.
In November, the Barcelona International Convention Centre will host the Euro-Mediterranean Summit. In the fourth quarter, GL events will benefit from synergies through its network organization as the China exhibition created by CHORUS in Vannes opens at the Grande Halle de Clermont-Ferrand to be followed by the Toulouse Exhibition Centre. Finally, Marketplace has further strengthened its position in its strategic segment of large accounts and will organize events for Canon, AREVA and PSA in the fourth quarter.
In 2006, the convention of the French federation of mutual societies (held in Toulouse in 2003), will inaugurate the new 3000-seat amphitheatre in Lyon, Salle 3000. In 2007, GL events will organize the Convention of French Solicitors, hosting it for the first time at a venue under its management, the Lyon Convention Centre.

In light of the absence of major sports events in 2005 (vs. revenue of €15mn from the Athens OG in 2004), Global Services performed well in the first nine months despite a marginal decline in sales. The real contribution of this business to sales remains substantial and includes services performed on behalf of sites in the Venue and Event Management portfolio.
Noteworthy 3rd quarter activity included assistance by GL events to customers for international events such as the Moscow World Fine Art Fair in September and a significant presence in recurrent post-summer events, notably Maison & Objet, Prêt-à-porter or Premiere Vision. GL espace et décor has moreover expanded its network, opening a new office in Rouen, with sales in 2006 expected to reach €1.2mn.
Before year-end, GL events will also set up the temporary installations for the World Summit on the Information Society to be held in Tunis in November (sales over €5mn) and participate in the Batimat International Building Exhibition and the Salon Nautique at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre...
In Budapest, benefiting from strong synergies with the group's knowhow, at year-end Expotech (a subsidiary of Hungexpo) will produce all the temporary installations for the House of the Future exhibition (sales of €3mn).
For 2006, the group was awarded a major installations contract for the Musée du Quai Branly.
FULL-YEAR SALES GUIDANCE REVISED UPWARDS
Olivier Ginon, Chairman of GL events, concluded: "On the basis of the group's good performance for the first nine months and the level of orders for the last quarter, we further raised our annual sales guidance to €422mn. This increase of 19% on 2004 includes 8% from organic growth. This success confirms the pertinence of our strategy of developing integrated services and providing a global offering unique in the event industry. We are benefiting from the growth prospects of the sector, our strong market position and clear synergies existing between Venue and Event Management and the extensive offering of Global Services."
