One of the reference events for all horse-riding fans, as well as trade professionals and partners, your event Equita' opens its doors on October 26th to Eurexpo-Lyon.
This year Equita' is celebrating Vet2011 the World Veterinary Year!
250th anniversary of the establishment in Lyon of the first veterinary school by Claude Bourgelat, Equerry to the King of France and Director of the Lyon Academy of Horsemanship. Equita' is participating in this major celebration and proposing a "special veterinary session."
Equita’ will be once again putting the equestrian world centre stage from 26 to 30 October at Eurexpo-Lyon. The 105,000m² of exhibition area will be welcoming around 500 exhibitors, as well as over 1,500 horses and 1,500 calves.
The Western section, already present in 2010, will cover an even larger area this year. Indeed, it will be hoisting the Cutting World Cup (with calves) as well as the French and European Barrel-Racing Cups (a speed trial).
For the third successive year, we have the pleasure of welcoming the world's best riders, competing in the stages of the ROLEX FEI Show-Jumping World CupTM presented by GL events, as well as the REEM ACRA FEI Dressage World CupTM presented by GENERALI.
Moreover, Lyon will be hosting the finals of the FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale) World Cup in 2014. An event not to be missed!
Equita’ is also a partner of the FFE French Tour EADS and the proud organiser of the EQUITA’ MASTERS presented by EQUIDIA.
The "Cadre Noir de Saumur" will also be back in Lyon after a five year absence. This year, the Troupe is working with the Lyon Symphony Orchestra to present an original new show. In an hour-long extravaganza combining sublime horse-riding skills and symphonic music, 35 horses and 20 riders will present a series of ten different choreographed themes.
Nine months in preparation, this special one-off show will be an unforgettable moment of elegance and beauty.
From 26 to 30 October, Lyon will be home to the horse-riding world!
