From 21 to 23 June 2011, EnR, the Fair for Renewable Energies, organised by GL events Exhibitions, will take place at the Office des Changes Exhibition Centre in Casablanca, Morocco.
The Moroccan Ministry for Energy, Mines, Water and the Environment has awarded GL events Exhibitions the contract to organise the first Renewable Energies Fair in Morocco.
For the launch of EnR in Casablanca, GL events Exhibitions has established a partnership with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco. GL events Exhibitions will therefore be supported by this organisation's expertise in terms of trade fairs as well as its knowledge of the local industrial fabric, since the Chamber will act as the fair's representative for Moroccan exhibitors.
Morocco and Renewable Energies: a winning combination
Morocco has significant potential in terms of renewable energies. Wind and solar (photovoltaic and thermal concentrated) power are among the first technologies to be explored. The ministry aims to use renewable sources to produce 42% of all energy consumption by 2020.
Morocco also has an efficient industrial fabric as well as a young and qualified population. The government is investing considerable resources to develop the Moroccan renewable energies industry and help foreign groups to set up in the country.
Finally, Morocco is participating in major international projects since it is heavily involved in the Desertec and Transgreen projects. There are obviously economic benefits for the country due to its participation in these projects involving 43 countries and nearly €700 million of investment.
