GL events had consolidated sales of €115.1 million in the 2007 third quarter, up 28.6% over the same period last year. End of September sales totalled €449 million, advancing 31.5% (+23.6% at comparable structure and exchange rates). International activity accounted for 39.2% of Group sales.
VENUE AND EVENT MANAGEMENT: ORGANIC GROWTH OF 33.6%
€218.5 million or 48.7% of nine-month consolidated sales, up 56.8% (33.6% at comparable structure and exchange rates)
Third-quarter sales benefited from the successful integration and good commercial performances of:
- Event and trade fair organization companies notably in Brazil (Expo Logistica 2007, Book Fair 2007), Italy (Flormart) and France (World Road Congress, the national convention of French solicitors)
- New venues managed by the Group of Metz (International Fair), Acropolis of Nice, Rio Centro and the commercial development of the CCIB in Barcelona and the Congress Centre of Lyon (national conventions for Peugeot and Société Générale and the French solicitors' convention).
STRONG GROWTH OF SERVICES: ORGANIC GROWTH OF 15.5%
€230.6 million or 51.3% of consolidated nine-month sales, up 14.1% (15.5% at comparable structure and exchange rates)
In line with its growth strategy, GL events continues to leverage Services for events through the network of venues managed by the Group.
Achievements of the Services division have moreover been recently highlighted at major international events such as the Pan American Games, the World Rugby Cup in September and October and the World Road Congress held in Paris.
POSITIVE OUTLOOK FOR 2007 FULL-YEAR
In the fourth quarter, all Group activities will contribute to national and international events including notably the organization of the International Motor Show of Bologna, the organization or hosting of major trade fairs such as Equita Lyon at Eurexpo, the Casa Su Misura Interior Design & Furnishings Fair in Padua, Football Expo 2007 in Brazil, institutional and corporate events such as conventions for Microsoft or Dassault Systems in Barcelona, the Trade Fair for Mayors in Paris, the Lyon Festival of Lights or the Truck and Bus World Forum 2007 to be held at the Lyon Convention Centre.
In light of the quantity and quality of projects assured by Group teams, GL events maintains guidance for full year sales exceeding €620 million or growth approaching 25%.
