The Board of Directors which convened on March 6th, 2001, decided to propose the payment of a dividend before tax credit of 1.4 Euro (1.0€ in 2000 and 0.5€ in 1999) at the General Meeting of the next 15th of June.
After a year 2000 marked by net sales and profitability in progression both in progression, Générale Location plans to pursue in 2001 its growth in its three markets: shows/exhibitions, events, fittings/ museum fittings. As a result, the five companies acquired during the course of the year 2000 will contribute over a full year in a favorable way to the group 's operating profit. Moreover, Générale Location with the support of its financial capacity, will announce in the near future new operations of external growth.
In 2001, Générale Location will be present notably at the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Barcelona, at the France/Africa Summit in Yaoundé, at the International Show of Haute Horlogerie (Clock and Watchmaking) in Geneva.
These investments as well as the ones realized in France (acquisition of the companies SF Protection, ISF, and rental equipment) are self-financed.
In a context of less favorable interest and exchange rates, the net financial income was maintained at a level equivalent to the one of last year. By bringing over its Paris expo shares to a competitive take over bid, Générale Location has made an exceptional capital gain after taxes of 93 million French Francs.
After taxes, the net group profit comes to 146.4 million French Francs, a 355% increase (+ 72% at 55.5 million French Francs before exceptional items). The group's debt level was brought down to 22% of the level of the shareholders ' equity exceeding today as a result 530 million French Francs.
